The 🔩 Bolt-Clamped 🔩 versions ARE FOR WIRE-MESH ENCLOSURES. Instead of magnets, the Bolt-Clamp version passes a stainless steel bolt through the cage-mesh and clamps VERY securely with no tools required. The BoltClamp also works with other types of enclosures, such as wood or PVC, but you will need to stick the bolt through a hole in the wall somehow.
The SMOOTH running surface is plenty grippy but not rough. The smooth surface is perfect for hedgehogs but clumsier lil buddies might prefer the "smoothly-textured" wheels in our other listings.

These Hamster Wheels come with the highest-strength magnet assemblies I've ever sold.
The 2lb-versions come with twice as many magnets as the 300g-version.
➡️You may be unable to separate the magnets if they are allowed to come together with nothing between them, especially the 2lb option. Keep a solid object, such as cardboard, between the magnets whenever the Wheel is not in use.
Diameter & Weight Specifications:
🔩 BoltClamp 12" - Requires Wire-Mesh Enclosure intended for Hedgehogs, Hamsters, or whatever you've got up to 5lbs
🧲 2lb / 12" - intended for Hedgehogs (or similar lil buddies) up to 2lb.
🧲300g / 12" - intended for larger hamsters up to 300g (or hefty lizards?)
This wheel has a 5" running width; so, like, the wheel is a 5"-wide sidewalk.
All 🧲 Magnetic 🧲 versions include two pieces:
[1] a Wheel ( fully-assembled with embedded Bearing, Magnet, and hardware) and [2] a MagBack (which goes on the outside of the enclosure-wall).
Your magBack will be magnetically stuck to the Wheel's central magNut.
***Magnetic Installation:*** Pull the MagBack off of the Wheel backside (this leaves one embedded magnet in the Wheel). Hold the Wheel where you want on the enclosure's wall and then CAREFULLY stick the MagBack on the outside of the enclosure-wall to secure the Wheel. That's all!
All 🔩 Bolt-Clamped 🔩 versions include two pieces:
[1] a Wheel ( fully-assembled with embedded Bearing, Bolt, and front-Clamp) and [2] a Back-Clamp which goes on the outside of the enclosure-wall.
Your Back-Clamp will be threaded onto your Wheel's central Bolt when your order arrives.
***Bolt-Clamp Installation:*** Unscrew the Back-Clamp to remove it from the Wheel (this leaves one Front-Clamp still attached to the Wheel's bolt and leaves the Bolt protruding from the back of the Wheel). Hold the Wheel where you want on the enclosure's wall and then pass the bolt through the Cage-Mesh. Tighten the Back-Clamp onto the bolt while holding the Front-Clamp still. Turning the Clamps by hand provides plenty of torque, no wrenches required!
Ships fully assembled and ready to use.
Okay to submerge for washing! 😁👌🛁 The included hardware (pre-assembled Skate Bearing, M8 bolt, & M8 Nut) is all stainless steel. The magnets are Nickel-coated and will not rust. Wash with warm water and pet-safe soap. Make sure the bearing at the center of the wheel gets a chance to dry after washing, it should not stay wet overnight.
❗Do not put in dishwasher, do not use water that's too hot for your hands or your pets, do not leave it outside.❗

Using our fleet of customized 3D printers, Stroodies makes this product out of PLA plastic, stainless steel hardware, and HEAVY-DUTY N52-Grade Neodymium Magnets. PLA plastic is made of fibers from plants like corn or sugarcane. N52 is the strongest grade of magnets in the known universe and the HEAVY-DUTY size is huuuge!

The rare-earth metal Neodymium makes the strongest magnets, but it is also relatively fragile for a metal. The magnets included in your order are all encased in plastic which makes them much more durable than usual but a significant drop onto a hard surface could still break them. They also have enough magnetic strength to break against each other if one magnet is haphazardly placed near another and allowed to go clack. That being said, when I've dropped the encased magnets on my tile floor and they just laugh and bounce. 😜
🧲Magnets are very stable while in use.🧲 Every one of these Neodymium Magnets is electroplated with a triple coating of nickel, copper and nickel again to protect against corrosion. Typically, these metallic coatings would get scratched over time which eventually would result in rust. BUT, your magnets won't get scratched because they are encased in plastic! You can expect these Neodymium magnets to remain powerful and effective for a very long time.
🐠🐟These Ni-Cu-Ni plated magnets are great for Terrariums but this coating is NOT SAFE FOR AQUARIUMS. Ask Stroodies about products with different Aquarium-safe Magnets 🐠🐟
DO NOT USE BROKEN MAGNETS If the metal is broken, discard broken magnets immediately!
If a break occurs, please contact Stroodies immediately (after discarding broken magnets) for information about replacing broken Magnets. (We have received zero reports.)
Remove any broken magnet from use immediately and discard carefully.
Magnetic shards are sharp and, if ingested, very dangerous. Fortunately, they all stick together which makes cleanup relatively simple. Stroodies recommends against using any magnets in your terrariums that are not encased in plastic or sealed by some other means. Even tape would be better than nothing, just to contain potential shards if a break occurs. If the plastic around your new magnets becomes damaged please contact Stroodies about proactive repair/replacement options. Contact Stroodies if you observe rust/corrosion on or around the magnets as rust would indicate that the nickel plating has failed and the magnets could lose strength (this still has never happened).
