The Magnetic Betta Play Tunnel mounts securely on standard aquarium glass using a total of 4x rare-earth neodymium magnets; yes, the good kind! Two magnets are embedded within the Betta Tunnel and two more "MagBacks" go on the outside of the glass to provide long term stability for your favorite fishy friends!

The rare-earth metal Neodymium makes the strongest magnets, but it is also relatively fragile for a metal. The magnets included in your order are all encased in plastic which makes them much more durable than usual but a significant drop onto a hard surface could still break them. That being said, when I've dropped the encased magnets on my tile floor and they just laugh and bounce. Don't drop'em on purpose. 😜
Magnets are very stable while in use. Every one of these Neodymium Magnets is electroplated with a triple coating of copper and nickel to protect against corrosion. Our aquarium safe magnets are then encased in a special epoxy to keep the metal from ever contacting any water! Typically, these epoxy and metallic coatings would get scratched over time which eventually would result in corrosion. BUT, your magnets won't get scratched because they are encased in Stroodies plastic! You can expect these Neodymium magnets to remain powerful and effective forever.
DO NOT USE BROKEN MAGNETS (We have received zero reports of broken magnets ever). If the metal is broken, discard broken magnets immediately!
If a break occurs, please contact Stroodies immediately (after discarding broken magnets) for information about replacing broken Magnets.
Contact Stroodies if you observe rust/corrosion on or around the magnets. (Still no reports of corroded magnets either.)

Please note this AQ-Safe Betta Tunnel uses special epoxy-coated N42-neodymium aquarium safe magnets that CAN be used underwater. Our "standard" N52 neodymium magnets advertised for reptiles are not safe for use in aquariums. 🐠🐟💗
