Stroodies SMALLER Log Hide - 4" or 7" Magnetic Hide
Stroodie, I shrunk the Log Hide! 😱😱We're rolling out some smaller versions of our popular Stroodies Log Hide so all kinds of lil' buddies can get in on the arboreal action. Perfect in a terrarium with our OG magnets for cresties, day geckos, mourning geckos, and other arboreal friends. Or, choose the AQ magnet options for use in an aquarium with bettas and other fishy friends! Also available in HEAVY DUTY versions of original OR aquarium-safe magnets!
Three different versions of this LogHide are available:
4" SWIM THRU: Roughly 4 inches long and about 3 1/3 inches tall. Inner diameter is roughly 2.48x2.11 inches. Open on both ends so lil' buddies can crawl or swim right through. Comes with two sets of Magclips.
4" CAVE LOG: About 4 inches long and about 3 1/3 inches tall. Closed on one side to create more privacy or can even be oriented vertically to act as a feeder! Contains one large hole roughly 2.5x1.5 inches on the front. Comes with four sets of Magclips for additional hold!
7" SWIM THRU: About 7 inches long and height scales from about 3 inches tall on one end to 4 inches tall on the the other end. Comes with four sets of Magclips for additional hold! This version has one small oval side door near one end (see photos for details).

If you plan to use in an aquarium, AQ Magnets are THE CORRECT OPTION!! 🐠🐟 Please note the 4" inch Swim Thru version is currently only available with two magnet pairs, but the others come with 4 magnet pairs. Stroodies does not currently recommend (and therefore doesn't offer) only two pairs of magnets with our standard strength magnets on these variations. We tested this combo, but it didn't really hold enough weight. Too much Log, not enough magnet. 🪵🧲

A "MagClip" is a lil doohickey with a magnet embedded inside it which clicks into a Stroodies Clip-Slot. MagClips can be moved around from slot to slot on a LogHide, or removed completely. Each MagClip also comes with a matching Stroodies MagBack. MagBacks go on the outside of the glass to secure the MagClips to the glass.
Choose the Magnet Strength that matches your usage and budget! Weight ratings using Stroodies original strength (OG) magnets are 75g for the 4-inch Swim Thru version and 150g for the 4-inch Cave Log and 7-inch Swim Thru versions. Please note that our AQ safe magnets hold a little less weight, but that's ok cause they're not really designed to be used out of water. Buoyancy will assist once it is submerged in water. (Yes, it sinks. Also, yes buoyancy still reduces the effective-weight of things that sink). The AQ-MagClips will hold it stable against typical aquarium circulation flow.
Like it's larger brethren, the Smaller LogHide can also be placed on the floor in a terrarium or aquarium without magnets if desired. Contact me if you want to order with no magnets!

KEEP MAGNETS AWAY FROM CHILDREN, PACEMAKERS, AND OTHER SENSITIVE ELECTRONICS. I'm serious.
The rare-earth metal Neodymium makes the strongest magnets, but it is also relatively fragile for a metal. The magnets included in your order are all encased in plastic which makes them much more durable than usual but a significant drop onto a hard surface could still break them. They also have enough magnetic strength to break against each other if one magnet is haphazardly placed near another and allowed to go clack. That being said, when I've dropped the encased magnets on my tile floor and they just laugh and bounce. 😜
Magnets are very stable while in use. Every one of the AQ-Safe Neodymium Magnets has a triple coating of electroplated nickel, then electroplated copper, and then impermeable epoxy to protect against corrosion. Every HEAVY-DUTY magnet is triple electroplated with Nickel, then Copper, then Nickle again.
Typically, these metallic/epoxy coatings would get scratched over time which eventually would result in rust. BUT, your magnets won't get scratched because they are encased in Stroodies plastic! You can expect these Neodymium magnets to remain powerful and effective for a very long time.

DO NOT USE BROKEN MAGNETS If you can see metal through the black epoxy coating discontinue use immediately and contact Stroodies for help!
If the plastic around your magnets should break please contact Stroodies immediately (after discarding any broken magnets) for proactive repair solutions.
Remove any broken magnet from use immediately and discard carefully.
Magnetic shards are sharp and, if ingested, very dangerous. Fortunately, they all stick together which makes cleanup relatively simple. Stroodies recommends against using any magnets in your terrariums that are not encased in plastic or sealed by some other means. Even tape would be better than nothing, just to contain potential shards if a break occurs and to protect the magnets's coatings from scratches. If the plastic around your new magnets becomes damaged please contact Stroodies about proactive repair/replacement options. Discontinue use immediately and contact Stroodies if you observe rust/corrosion on or around the magnets as rust would indicate that the nickel plating has failed and the magnets could lose strength (this is exceedingly unlikely so long as the plastic remains intact).

Stroodies LogHides are printed out of PLA plastic in Rochester, NY.
PLA plastic is comprised of tough fibers from plants like sugar cane or corn. Both of these materials will hold up for years in a Gecko environment. Stroodies stands behind all of our products because we have our own geckos and we love them very much.
All of Stroodies products are washable with reptile-safe soap and warm water. Do not dishwash, do not expose to temperatures which would burn you or your pets. The plastic will remain sturdy and resilient for years.
